Directions and Parking
Directions:
- The California Museum for History, Women and the Arts is located at 1020 O Street, in the California State Archives building. It is at the corner of 10th and O Streets in downtown Sacramento, one block south of State Capitol Park. Click here to see a map of the location.
- From I-5 (North or South), take the Q Street exit. At 10th Street, turn left. The Museum is two blocks up on the right.
- From Highway 50/I-80 West, take the 10th Street exit. Turn right at 10th Street. The Museum is eight blocks up on the right.
Parking:
- Free Weekend Parking!
- On weekends and state holidays, free parking is available directly across the street from the Museum, at 10th and O Streets. Look for the Museum Parking signs. On-street parking is free on Sundays.
- Parking garages (open Monday through Friday) located at:
- Tenth Street between P and O Streets
- Tenth Street between L and K Streets
- Eleventh Street between O and P Streets
- Fourteenth and P Streets
- A limited amount of one-hour, two-hour, and ten-hour metered parking is available on the streets.
Public Transportation:
- The Museum is easily accessed by Sacramento’s Light Rail system. Use the Archives Plaza stop. Amtrak provides convenient access to downtown Sacramento, with its station located at 4th and I Streets. It is a 12-block walk to the Museum. Amtrak passengers may take Light Rail’s Gold Line directly to the Archives Plaza stop, or a connecting Amtrak San Joaquin bus, which stops on request at the State Capitol, 1 block from the Museum.
