Communications and Public Outreach Intern
The California Museum has two part-time internship opportunities to gain valuable work experience on public outreach and communications projects at a vibrant, creative cultural organization. These positions will support the department’s various press, marketing, design layout and public relations needs. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, assisting in pitching stories to media, writing press and online resources, designing promotional materials, researching possible media outlets, expanding social media and local networks, assisting in planning media events/programs and basic administrative work. Candidate should employ attention to detail, show initiative and have excellent writing skills.
Title: Communications and Public Outreach intern
Position Type: Part-time internship (2 needed)
Days/Hours: 10-15 hours/week
Salary Level: unpaid
Majors recruited: All majors. Prefer Communications, Design and Liberal Arts majors.
Qualifications: Previous experience in an office environment preferred, but not required. Must know Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with the Adobe Design Suite, specifically Photoshop and PDFs, is a plus.
