Learning experiences extend beyond the classroom. But, due to budget cuts and decreased resources, many schools are finding it increasingly difficult to provide students with the first-hand learning opportunities provided on a field trip to a cultural institution or museum.
In response, the Museum offers field trip scholarships to eligible schools, helping to further our mission to educate, enlighten and inspire students through hands-on learning experiences and educational tools that bring California’s history, arts and culture alive for under-served children in our community.
Applications for for 4th and 5th grade Sacramento City Unified School District Title 1 field trip tours during the 2015-16 school year were accepted Sept. 1-30, 2015 on this web page and are currently sold out.
Other K-12 classes outside of the Sacramento City Unified School District are encouraged to apply for a Target “Think Outside the Classroom” grant, covering up to $700 of field trip costs. For more information or to apply, visit Target’s field trip grant site.
