Each year approximately 50,000 students from throughout the state experience the diverse people, art, and culture of California at The California Museum. Through interactive exhibits, educational programs, and hands-on activities, students walk away from the Museum inspired by their history.
The California Museum is unlike any other Museum in that it strives not to just provide information and material, but a complete visitor experience history comes alive, and speaks to visitors, young and old, in terms they can understand. It is through interactive exhibits, insightful educational programs ans state-of-the-art multimedia presentations that students will learn of the strength in California's diverse population and culture. Students will learn that California's story is not just the Gold Rush or California missions. California's story is about the struggles and triumphs of immigrants, minorities, laborers, artists, philanthropists and scientists.
A strong emphasis is placed on innovation, underrepresented groups of people, and the untold stories of those who changed this state and nation.
