“Ray Eames: A Century of Modern Design”
Check out the new hometown exhibit honoring the recent 100th birthday of the late Sacramento artist Ray Eames, who, along with her husband Charles, helped define the mid-century modern aesthetic by creating iconic designs and furniture that have been featured on Hollywood sets from Frasier to Mad Men. In addition to those pieces, the show explores the artwork Ray produced during her youth in Sacramento, like her intricate paper dolls. Also, if you’re a Bank of America customer, admission will be free at The California Museum (as well as the Crocker) this weekend and the first weekend of every month. $8.50. Sat. 10 a.m.-5 p.m, Sun. noon-5 p.m. 1020 O St. 916-653-7524. californiamuseum.org
