The Northern California Time of Remembrance committee of the JACL presents a screening of “And Then They Came for Us” (2017) by Abby Ginzberg and Ken Schneider on Sat., Feb. 18 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. The 2017 documentary film retells the history of the forced incarceration of 120,000 Japanese Americans during WWII through first-hand accounts of California Hall of Fame inductee George Takei and others, demonstrating parallels to efforts to register and ban Muslims in America today.
Tickets are $20.00 general admission, $15.00 college students or free for children and include admission to reception and all current Museum exhibits. Proceeds benefit the Museum’s “Time of Remembrance” field trip tour program, providing K-12 students with tours of the exhibition “Uprooted! Japanese Americans During WWII” led by docents who share their personal experiences during this difficult chapter of history.
