The California Museum welcomes new Executive Director Dori Dennis Moorehead
SACRAMENTO, CALIF. —– Oct. 10, 2011: The California Museum is pleased to welcome new Executive Director Dori Dennis Moorehead. Formerly serving as Director of Development for the University of the Pacific’s McGeorge School of Law, Ms. Moorehead recently helped to complete a $10 million capital campaign, which resulted in the creation of a new legal studies center dedicated by U.S. Supreme Court Justice Kennedy on Sept. 18, 2011.
Dina Eastwood, The California Museum’s Board of Trustee Chair, said, ‘‘Dori is a perfect fit for the next chapter of the Museum. Her experience in non-profit fundraising, management and strategic planning will further our goal to serve the community and highlight our great state of California, as well as the achievements of great Californians.’’
Ms. Moorehead previously served as a prosecutor and administrative law attorney for more than six years as a Judge Advocate in the U.S. Army, followed by tenures as a non-profit attorney, professional fundraiser and business manager. In other tenures, Ms. Moorehead also served as Business Manager for the UC Davis Health System’s Health Sciences Advancement Department and as Director of Institutional Advancement at Los Rios Community College District.
Ms. Moorehead holds a J.D. from the McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific, and an undergraduate degree Baylor University.
