Traci Stevens joined Governmental Advocates in 2012 after serving in the Brown Administration as the Acting Secretary for the Business Transportation and Housing Agency. Stevens also served as the Deputy Secretary for Legislation at the Agency from 2009 to 2010, when she was appointed Acting Secretary.
Stevens has over 25 years of public policy experience in California, serving 9 years in the State Senate working for Senate Minority Leaders Senator Jim Nielsen and Senator Ken Maddy, as well as 12 years working for Governor Pete Wilson, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr.
Her background includes experience in housing, serving three years as Deputy Director of Legislation and Regulatory Review at the Department of Housing and Community Development; five years of consumer protection and general government oversight at both the Department of Consumer Affairs and the State and Consumer Services Agency as well as her three years at the Business Transportation & Housing Agency.
Currently living in Roseville, Stevens is married and has one daughter.
