An exhibit of large format, black and white photography by
landscape photographer Geoff Fricker, “Sacrament: Homage to a
River” is a document of the natural and cultural forces
influencing the river running through the region.
Images, which capture the river’s powerful and often ephemeral
nature, explore the watershed’s importance in California’s
economy and environment and reveal how all Californians, from
farmers and ecologists to fishermen and household consumers, have
a vested interest in the watershed’s future.
An accompanying book including over 100 of Fricker’s photographs
with text by Rebecca Lawton titled “Sacrament: Homage
to a River” published by Heyday Books will be
available in April, 2014 in the Museum Store.
