In this interactive, docent-led program, students will discover the impact of immigration on early California. Exploring our dynamic exhibits, including “California Indians: The First People,” “California Missions,” and “Gold Mountain: Chinese Californian Stories,” students will use artifacts and primary sources to reflect on what pushed early Californians to leave their homes, and what pulled them to the Golden State.

The structured program lasts approximately 50 minutes. Your group may choose to explore the Museum after the program for an additional 40 minutes (90 minutes total). The field trip includes classroom resources to use before and after your trip, as well as structured Museum exploration.
