Explore legendary director Billy Wilder’s contributions to film noir at the “Light & Noir Film Festival” on Sat., July 22, 2017 from 5:00 to 9:30 pm at Sacramento’s historic Crest Theatre!

Presented in partnership with the Film Noir Foundation, this one-night festival features film screenings and discussion in conjunction with the Museum’s installation of “Light & Noir: Exiles & Émigrés in Hollywood, 1933-1950.” Highlights include:

  • “Double Indemnity” (1944) starring Fred MacMurry, Barbara Stanwyck & Edward G. Robinson at 5:00 p.m. (1 hour, 46 minutes)
  • Q&A with “Czar of Noir” Eddie Muller, Founder & President of the Film Noir Foundation & host of Turner Classic Movies’ “Noir Alley,” onthe legacy of Billy Wilder at 7:00 p.m. (30 minutes)
  • “Sunset Boulevard” (1950) starring  William Holden, Gloria Swanson & Erich von Stroheim  at 7:30 p.m. (1 hour, 50 minutes)
  • 1940s-1950s costume contest at 9:20 p.m.
  • Custom cocktails from the theatre’s adjoining Empress Tavern all evening
