Onsite Field Trips
Inspire your students on a field trip, now booking for 2022-23 school year!
Ideal for 2nd-12th grade classes, all programs explore the state’s history, arts and culture from diverse perspectives, increasing empathy, tolerance and critical thinking skills for students.
Choose from 7 unique learning experiences aligned with History-Social Science, Common Core ELA, Civics outcomes and Ethnic Studies highlighting a range of California topics.
Group Visits
Now booking reservations
Discounted admission is available to adult and youth groups of 10 or more visitors who book a reservation a minimum of 7 days in advance.
Group visits can be upgraded to a guided tour led by a Museum docent-led for an additional $25 fee. Guided tours must be booked a minimum of two (2) weeks in advance. Please note docents are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.
Private Group Visits when the Museum is closed to the public are available to groups of 30 or more on a limited basis by request to reservations@californiamuseum.org or (916) 654-1729. In addition, boxed lunches may be ordered directly from Crisp Catering located in the Secretary of State building adjacent to the Museum.

*To receive discounted admission, reservations for a minimum of 10 paid participants are required and must be made a minimum of 7 days in advance. Girl Scouts™ Celebrate Women Patch Tour

This program offers participating Girl Scout™ troops the opportunity to earn “Celebrate Women” patches while enjoying a self-guided tour of the Museum and learning about California women’s contributions to history.
Includes a menu of activities for Girl Scouts ranging from Daisy to Ambassador on a self-guided tour of “Women Inspire: California Women Changing Our World,” plus a “Celebrate Women” patch for each participant.
GIRL SCOUTS™ DOLORES HUERTA PATCH TOUR

This program offers participating Girl Scout™ troops the opportunity to earn “Dolores Huerta” patches while enjoying a self-guided tour of the Museum and exploring themes of immigration and activism.
Includes a Troop leader guide of activities for Girl Scouts ranging from Daisy to Ambassador on a self-guided tour of “Women Inspire: California Women Changing Our World,” “The Unity Center,” and “We Are All Californians,” plus a “Dolores Huerta” patch for each participant.
